Get Involved :: 4000 Praise TeamFor a long time, God has impressed upon the ministry the need to establish a team of people to praise Him as they did in the Old Testament. In 1 Chronicles 22, we read that David gathered the resources needed for the construction of the Temple including stone, gold and lumber. In Chapter 23, verse 4, David assigned some of the Levites to supervise the construction of the Temple. On a much smaller scale, we have done the same at CCCD as we have been involved in constructing the schools and the Village. However, in 1 Chronicles 23:5, David set aside 4000 Levites to praise God while this construction went on. It is essential and absolutely vital that CCCD also have such a team to praise God on our behalf. Is it really practical and effective to praise God in the midst of the construction of a school and Village? It certainly was for David and also for Jehoshaphat. In 2 Chronicles 20, the enemies of Israel came to fight against Jehoshaphat. The multitude was so great that Jehoshaphat and the people were deeply frightened. They knew that they had no might and they did not know what to do but their eyes were on God. 2 Chronicles 20:20 says they rose early in the morning to go to battle and Jehoshaphat encouraged the people to trust the Lord and appointed singers to praise the Lord. Verse 22 says: "And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord caused their enemies to fight against themselves." In verse 24, when the children of Israel arrived on the battlefield, they found dead bodies. Not even one escaped. CCCD faces its own challenges and obstacles and we are looking for people to praise God on our behalf. We know that by doing so, the heart of God will be moved to grant us victory in our endeavors to take the Gospel to the deaf of Jamaica.
